Wood Carving

I started wood carving in early 2007 after taking a carving class by Yo Takimoto offered at the tortoise store in Venice, Ca. Yo Takimoto travels around Japan and America teaching Japanese "kikezuri" wood carving. I try to catch a couple of classes whenever he is in town. Yo's teaching is about natural forms derived from a particular piece of wood. I am experimenting with both, making abstract and literal object .
